SACHSE (CBSDFW.COM) - A train crash in Sachse on Wednesday morning left one person hurt and caused traffic issues for early commuters. It happened at about 9:00 a.m. just off of Highway 78, which runs parallel to the tracks.

Lt. Marty Cassidy with the Sachse Police Department explained that a female driver was stopped along the tracks when a train started to approach. She was unable to move her car far enough forward or backward, and the train then clipped the vehicle.

"I believe that the crossing arm had already come down," Cassidy stated, "so she couldn't back up, and there was traffic in front of her that was kind of keeping her pinned there."

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Her name has not been released. Nobody else was hurt during this incident.

However, the crash caused southbound traffic along Highway 78 to backup all the way into Wylie.
