Double Severe Threat

No worries this early evening in concerns with the weather. We have breezy, humid conditions and temperatures holding in the 70's.  We are watching areas to our west for possible thunderstorm development this evening:

Storms that develop in this area will move rapidly ENE into the metro area later tonight. They could be producing large hail and damaging winds.

That's the first threat. We have a strong low pressure system forming over the Texas/OK Panhandle. This low will move over central Oklahoma and drag and strong cold front through north Texas:

The second threat will be a squall line coming in from the northwest overnight. It should hit the Metroplex sometime between 4am and 6am. Expect winds 60-70mph with this line as well as the threat of blinding rain, isolated flooding and even brief isolated (and weak) tornadoes. The threat quickly moves east through the morning.

Behind the front will be very strong northwest winds. A wind advisory is in effect for tomorrow afternoon for the western half of our area:

Temperatuers will be slowly dropping across the afternoon, starting in the low 70's before the squall line comes through and ending in the mid-60's by afternoon:

We have a couple of very chilly nights ahead of us after our very windy Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning could be our coldest morning since last May:

Despite the chilly mornings we have some warm and dry days for the rest of the work week. It looks like great Fall weather for next weekend:
