DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Black Academy Of Arts Of Letters honored legendary actress Diahann Carroll Saturday night at the third annual Ties and Tux Gala.
Carroll was presented with the Luminary Arts award for acting legacy.

Not only was she given an award, but also the evening reflected on The Golden Globe and Tony award winning actress' work such as the groundbreaking show Julia and the movie Claudine.

Carroll said she was honored by the recognition. "Anytime your community decides to honor you it makes you feel especially proud of whatever you left behind."

Carroll tells CBS 11 that she recently wrapped up work on new episodes of the USA series "White Collar".
