DFW Airport CEO Says Security Line Wait Times Not Bad

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - While many of the nations major airports are experiencing long wait times due to security lines, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport officials say they don't have that problem.
Sean Donohue is the CEO of DFW Airport and says while passengers at other airports have complained that long lines were causing them to, in some cases, miss their flights, DFW customers are getting through security lines in less than 20 minutes on average.
"We are fortunate that we have so many checkpoints, we have three at every terminal. We are able to spread the customer volumes. It also requires the TSA to staff all of them. So our staffing levels are always strong," he says.
Donohue says that's much better than having one major checkpoint.
"I'd much rather have 15 checkpoints that requires TSA to staff them all, than one or two central checkpoints, that, if you get the staffing wrong, can really have an impact on customer wait times," Donohue says.
The TSA says they will hire 768 more security officers for summer to help ease delays.
