DeSoto Police Shoot, Arrest Suspected Car Thief

DALLAS COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A DeSoto Police Officer has shot a chase suspect in south rural Dallas County.

The shooting occurred in the 10000 block of Beckley View, and DeSoto Police say it stemmed from an arrest earlier this week for the theft of a monster truck.

Police got a tip that another person was involved and an address for that suspect where police were told they would find another car.

When police showed up at the address, the second suspect got into the second stolen car and tried to hit one of the officers.

That's when police shot him.  The second suspect has been taken into custody.  His condition is not known at this time.  The officer has minor injuries..

Police say all suspects are in custody.  The condition of the suspect who was shot is not known at this time.

Dallas County Sheriff's Department has been called to investigate the shooting.
