DeMarco Murray Wins NFC Award For 2nd Straight Month
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October, his second straight award.
In four October games, Murray rushed for 520 yards and two touchdowns. He also reeled in 17 passes for 171 yards.
Murray leads the NFL with 1,054 yards and 206 carries this season. At the halfway point, he is on pace to rush for 2,108 yards, surpassing Eric Dickerson's 30-year record (2,105).
In winning the award, Murray became just the third running back to win consecutive NFC Offensive honors. Barry Sanders accomplished the feat in 1997, and Emmitt Smith did so in 1992.
Murray has now rushed for at least 100 yards in an NFL record 8 games to start the season.
