Dallas Police Officer Arrested For Assault

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Dallas police arrested one of their own for assault, family violence, according to the Police Department.

Officer Stephen Vineyard and his fiancee were sitting in a vehicle outside their residence when "they became involved in an altercation that led to the arrest of Office Vineyard," DPD said on Sunday. Vineyard has made bond and is out of jail.

Vineyard has been at DPD since November 2007 and currently patrols the southeast division. DPD said he has been placed on administrative leave.

DPD's internal affairs division will be investigating.
