DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas police have arrested the suspect in the deaths of two men on Sunday morning.

34-year-old Melvin Jackson has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting and killing 42-year-old Brashaun Boyce and 39-year-old Gerlando Halstied.

Police questioned neighbors overlooking the parking lot at the Hidden Ranch Apartment Homes Sunday hoping to find more information on the shootings that left the two men dead.

A witness said the shooter pulled up in a car with two other men, and shot Boyce and Halstied.

"They were some good dudes, man. I don't think nobody deserves to die. At the wrong place at the wrong time," the victims' friend, Antion Stephens said.

Police said Boyce died at a local hospital, but Halstid never made it that far.

Jackson is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail.
