Dallas Officer Under Investigation For Sexual Assault Found Dead

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- A Dallas Police officer being investigated for multiple sexual assaults has been found dead in Little Elm from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The body of Senior Corporal David Kattner, a 26-year-veteran assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division, was found on Friday by Little Elm officers responding to a 9-1-1 call.

"Upon arriving, we did find a deceased person in the backyard," said Little Elm Police Chief Waylan Rhodes to KRLD. "Looking at the evidence that was laying around, it looked like it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

Chief Rhodes confirms that there is no threat to the community.

Kattner was arrested in December for allegedly using his position as a peace officer to force prostitutes to perform sexual acts while he worked an extra job.

He was placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
