DALLAS (CBSDFW) - A Dallas police officer has turned himself in to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department after being charged for an unknown offense.

Sergeant Terrance Scott is charged with Official Oppression, a class A Misdemeanor following an investigation by the Dallas Police Department.

Scott was booked around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning and released around 11:00 a.m. after posting a $1,000 bond.

It's not known at this time what Scott is accused of doing, but authorities say it stems from an offense that occurred on June 8, 2016.

Scott is a 25 year veteran of the Department, and is assigned to the South Central Patrol Division.

He is currently on administrative leave pending further investigation.
