Dallas firefighters battle North Oak Cliff apartment fire

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas firefighters battled a three-alarm apartment fire in North Oak Cliff earlier this afternoon.

The call came in at about 4:34 p.m. in the 800 block of North Marsalis Avenue at Comal Street – not far from Lake Cliff Park. When the first units arrived on scene, they reported that the fire had spread to the second floor.  

Heavy flames and smoke could be seen shooting up from the building. 

Before long, the blaze escalated to a second- or third-alarm response, and approximately 60 to 70 firefighters were called to the scene.  

No reports so far of anyone hurt. Dallas Fire-Rescue is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
