Dallas City Council To Discuss High Speed Trains

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The City of Dallas has scheduled a number of community awareness meetings over the next two months to get public input on a proposed high speed train.

The train would take passengers from Dallas to Houston in 90 minutes along a 240 mile track. The project is pending approval from the Dallas City Council.

"This is a major private infrastructure project," Peer Chacko, Chief Planning Officer/Director of Urban Design & Planning, said. "The City is working with Texas Central Holding to facilitate the federal review process and ensure that communities are aware of the project's scope and significance."

Texas Central and Dallas City Council members will be present at the meetings, which will allow citizens to learn more about the project, ask questions and provide feedback.
