HURST (CBSDFW.COM) — Police say a customer at a convenience store was shot in the arm when he interrupted an armed robbery in progress.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at a store at Brown Trial and Pecan Street on Friday. Two mask-wearing suspects were robbing a clerk at gunpoint when the customer kicked a door that one of the suspects was holding open, Hurst police said. The distraction caused the suspects to run, one of which fired three shots at the customer.

The customer was hit once in the arm, but the injury is not life threatening, police said. He was taken to a hospital.

As of Saturday afternoon, police were still searching for the suspects, who they say may be connected to two other armed robberies in the area.
