Cowboys' Randle Will Play After Shoplifting Arrest
IRVING, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle won't be suspended after his arrest on a shoplifting charge.
"We'll fine him significantly and move forward." said Cowboys coach Jason Garrett - but said Randle would be on the field and ready to play Sunday against the New York Giants.
Randle was charged with a Class B misdemeanor of theft between $50 and $500 after he was accused of taking $123 worth of cologne and underwear from a department store at a suburban Dallas mall on Monday.
The arrest came a day after one of Randle's best games in two seasons with Dallas in a 30-23 victory against Super Bowl champion Seattle. He had a 38-yard run and a key tackle on a late kickoff.
On his return Wednesday to the team's Valley Ranch headquarters, Randle apologized to the coach and team. "He took full responsibility" said Garrett. "He said it was the poorest decision he's ever made in his life."
The Cowboys (5-1) play their first NFC East opponent in the Giants (3-3).
