Cowboys LB McClain Comes Up Lame At Monday Practice

IRVING, Texas (105.3 THE FAN) — The Dallas Cowboys are trying to get 'all hands on deck' for the season-opener Sunday against the 49ers, and in the opening moments of Monday's practice - they appeared to be on that track.

But early in the workout, Rolando McClain - the likely winner of the battle at middle linebacker – hit a blocking sled and came up limping.

McClain put a sleeve on his right knee, but during the open-media portion of the session, did not return to the field, leaving rookie Anthony Hitchens as the probable middle linebacker flanked by Bruce Carter and Justin Durrant.

Defensive tackle Terrell McClain (high ankle sprain) did work in the helmets-and-shorts practice, as did QB Tony Romo, cornerback Mo Claiborne and defensive tackle Henry Melton.

Defensive end George Selvie (shoulder) did not practice but tells 105.3 The Fan that he will "absolutely" be ready for Sunday.

Defensive end Lavar Edwards and special-team ace C.J. Spillman were among the newcomers at practice.
