Cowboys LT Tyron Smith Named NFC Offensive Player Of Week
IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) -- Offensive lineman are rarely recognized with awards for their offensive contributions. The Cowboys did something pretty special on Sunday.
Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for week 6 following Dallas' 30-23 win in Seattle on Sunday.
Smith is the first offensive lineman to receive the award since Kansas City's Brian Waters won it in 2004.
The Cowboys rushed the ball 37 times for 162 yards against the league's top rushing defense. And on 32 pass attempts, quarterback Tony Romo was sacked just once.
Running back DeMarco Murray was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.
