Cowboys Last Talk Before Kickoff In London

LONDON, England (105.3 THE FAN) - My very first and most resonant instruction from 105.3 The Fan upon taking the assignment of Dallas Cowboys "embedded reporter": "If a blade of grass moves, cover it!"

That mandate has taken me around the country and outside the country, from Valley Ranch to Oxnard to this week in London, where today the Cowboys oppose the Jaguars in a game you will hear here on 105.3 The Fan (our pregame starts at 9 a.m. DFW time with a noon kickoff - 6 p.m. here in the UK).

In one more effort to follow that mandate, on the eve of kick off, a massive collection of Cowboys quotes from the Saturday Fan Forum outside of Wembley. This is extensive, raw and "every moving blade of grass," as I know the Fan Fan likes it:

JASON WITTEN

Yeah, it's everthing to us. When we finish this game, we have a bye. So, you know, Coach has done a really good job. We've had a great start to the season. We've had two tough losses so far, but our focus is simply on getting one win.

DEZ BRYANT

You know, you just got to want it. In order to win, you just got to want to. So, I think our team knows that. We stay together as a team, a family. We all have one goal, and that's to get to the Super Bowl.

Mike means a lot to me. He played here, and it's big shoes to fill. I'm always up on him, and I try to be him as much as possible.

I want to know if London is America's Team. When I say 'America,' you say 'Team.' America...

DAN BAILEY

Yeah, definitely. I grew up -- that was my main sport growing up. You know, it's kind of a crossover to come over here and play in Wembley. I'm still in a kicking match, I guess you could say. It's really cool. I look forward to doing it.

It's fantastic. It's a great venue. I've seen it on TV, so being here in person and being able to walk around and see what it's like in person is a really cool experience.

Definitely. We put in work in the afternoon, but we have a little time in the afternoon to get out and see the sights. It's been fantastic. I've really enjoyed my time here. Everybody has been really nice and really welcome to us. So, it's been a really good experience.

BARRY CHURCH

It's unbelievable. It's been an unbelievable experience. And we're just ready to kick it off Sunday and get it done.
We have fans all over the place, and they're very supportive of what we do. And we're just going to go out there and try to get a victory for them and hopefully we get that done.

Oh, no, they're very young, but they're very skilled as well. They have great skill positions at every position: tight end, wide receiver, running backs. So, we've definitely got to be on our P's and Q's if we want to get a victory out there. But I feel like the game plan we've got setup, if we're able to execute it one hundred percent, we'll be able to get that victory.

Oh, yeah... The past two weeks, he's been telling us we haven't been playing good enough. So, we definitely stepped it up this week during practice, and so far, he's said that we've got to take it to the field on Sunday. So, hopefully, we're able to do that.

DEMARCO MURRAY

I'm feeling great -- feeling great. You know, we're enjoying ourselves down here. But it's a business trip for us and we're excited about the game tomorrow.

It's gone well for us. I think we're able to bounce back this week, hopefully. You know, we're coming off two games that we're not too proud of, but we had a big week of practice, so we're excited for the challenge.

Yeah, yeah. A lot of tradition behind this program, behind this team, and especially at the running back position. So, I pride myself on working hard and I'm trying to fill those guys shoes. And I'm happy and blessed to be a part of this team and playing behind this offensive line, these guys up here.

TONY ROMO

I'm feeling good. I still don't know what a transverse process is. So, you know, it's been great to be here in London. I expect you guys to take over that stadium tomorrow.

I think I might have [to play] with this crowd here.

I think anytime you get a bunch of men who get together and have one common goal, you know, you have a great chance to succeed. We have a lot of guys who are committed to the team. And they put their individual accolades and personal goals aside and it really allows you to be special. This team just takes it week by week and is team first. You know, it's been a good thing.

You know, when you have a bunch of guys who will work the way our team works -- our offensive line, our defensive line, these guys, you know, no one works harder in the National Football League than this group. And I think it's a great thing to see and it's special. And I just enjoy watching them play out there.

Well, I think the special thing is we get to come up here and communicate and see all the support I saw. I want to give you guys a round of applause. You've been fantastic. Thanks for coming out today. It means a lot to the team, and I promise you: they'll go back, they'll think about this, and they'll remember it for a long time. Thank you, guys.

JASON GARRETT

Yeah, I think we have a lot of Cowboy fans out there. But I see a couple misguided Packer and Bear fans. I see a Seahawk fan back there. I see a couple of Jaguar fans back there. And I agree with Tony. I think it's really, really important that everybody here in London and all across Great Britain understand that the Dallas Cowboys are not only America's Team, but they're Great Britain's Team too.
