Cowboys defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku arrested in North Texas
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku was arrested over the weekend, Collin County jail records show.
The Texas Department of Public Safety told CBS News Texas that a trooper witnessed "a vehicle being operated recklessly" on the southbound lanes of Dallas North Tollway just before midnight on Saturday. The trooper initiated a traffic stop to investigate, and the driver, identified as Ezeiruaku, was arrested.
Jail records show Ezeiruaku was booked into the Collin County jail for reckless driving on Sunday, Jan. 11. He was released the same day with a bond of $500 and other unlisted conditions.
CBS Sports Texas reached out to the Dallas Cowboys for comment. "We are aware of the situation," the organization said.
Texas DPS said that the investigation is ongoing.
The arrest comes one day after Ezeiruaku was told he was being fined $10,528 by the NFL for pulling the helmet off a New York Giants player after a skirmish during the Cowboys' loss to the Giants on January 4. Ezeiruaku was ejected from the game.
