In North Dallas's Preston Royal Shopping Center, an original tenant still stands proudly after 60 years. George Nikolopoulos runs the Cobbler Shoe Repair, fixing everything from cowboy boots to Christian Louboutins. Nikolopoulos has worked in the shop for 40 years and he does remember one out-of-the-ordinary request.
A Vietnam vet came home missing part of a foot and just wanted to wear his cowboy boots again. Nikolopoulos was up for the challenge and came up with an idea to help the man.
Nikolopoulos also counts Ross Perot, the Dixie Chicks, and former President George W. Bush as some of his customers. He says he's lucky to have served multiple generations of customers and has loved watching the neighborhood grow up around him.
