ST. PAUL, MN (CBSDFW.COM) -- Texan Kelly Clarkson treated her fans to her version of Prince's Purple Rain Tuesday while performing in St. Paul Minnesota. Prince was born in the neighboring city of Minneapolis.

"No Pressure," she told the audience before she started singing the iconic ballad. "That's like one of the best songs of all time," she said after she was done. "I was like, 'Oh God, don't screw it up too much.'"

"Thank you for being so sweet even if you're like, 'That wasn't like the original.'"

Kelly Clarkson, originally from Burleson TX, rose to fame after winning the first season of the Fox television show American Idol in 2002.
