DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - There will be a costly removal after a parking meter mix-up in downtown Dallas.

Several parking meters were installed next to a bike lane in the 1800 block of Wood Street. Of course, bike lanes wouldn't be useable if cars are packed on the route.

Officials with the city say the installations happened after a miscommunication with the contractor. They say the meters shouldn't have been put up.

For now, the city has covered the meters with bags that say, "Parking by permit only."

Officials say the meters will be removed Friday.
