FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) – After repeatedly being vandalized and stolen from, Devan Breedlove, a member of The Church of Christ the King & All Saints decided to set up his own camcorder, hoping to capture what was going on.

This week, on two different nights, he caught a pair of young men in the act. The courtyard of the church was left defaced after the thieves ripped off memorial plaques and chipped marble slabs.

Breedlove said, "This is not just theft. This is a violation of a memory."

His video shows the thieves ride into the church courtyard on their bikes. They then are seen working to try and tear off the plaques.

The first incident was caught on camera Tuesday. The following night one of the men went back alone and did the same thing all over again. He even went as far as stealing the name plaques of those whose ashes had been placed in the church's columbarium.

"I stop to think what drives a person to do something like this," Breedlove questioned.

Regardless of the answer, Breedlove and the rest of his congregation want it to stop. He says he prays for the thieves and hopes they won't do it again.

"A person's soul that is lost can not be replaced -- it can be redeemed. That's what we want."
