Christmas Display Turning Heads In University Park

DALLAS (KRLD) - Big Christmas displays are the norm in University Park, but one house sets the bar super high and adds a Texas twist.

Even neighbors, with massive displays of their own, stop to stare at Wayne Smith's house.

His yard holds 142 Santas, 22 toy soldiers and 67 snowmen.

If that's not enough, you'll find the crown jewel of Smith's display sitting on his roof.  It's Big Tex's original head.

Smith bought the head at auction in 1992.

He picked up his Santas and snowmen at flea markets.

Smith admits his electric bill skyrockets during the holidays maintaining the display, but its worth it to see the looks from neighborhoods kids.
