FORT WORTH (CBS11) – A Fort Worth couple says it is spreading joy and happiness with a display of colors on their Fairmount neighborhood home.

Nina and Doug Dillmann live on College Avenue, and have turned their home into a real life "Up" house like the one in the 2009 Disney movie "Up."

The Dillmann's say the inspiration to paint their home in 12 different colors came after overcoming life-threatening challenges.

Their daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia in 2014.

Shortly after that, Nina suffered a stroke.

Now both are on the road to better health.

They say their colorful house is a celebration of the joy they now feel and they are trying to spread that happens to others.

"There is a happy spirit," said Doug Dillman. "There is a happy feeling here."

The words "Keep Looking Up" have been placed above the steps to the homes porch.

"Maybe it will make you smile," said Nina. "Maybe it will make you feel better."

Every day they say passers-by stop in front of their home to take pictures and meet the family behind Fort Worth's "Up" house.
