Celebrations Set For Kyle Field Reopening

COLLEGE STATION (AP) - Three days of celebrating will mark the reopening of Texas A&M University's Kyle Field after $485 million worth of renovations.
Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp said Friday that fans can expect more restrooms, better cellphone coverage and terrific food. Sharp says seating capacity tops 102,500, making Kyle Field the largest collegiate football stadium in Texas.
Events begin Friday afternoon, Sept. 11, with rededication of the bronze statue of John David Crow, A&M's first Heisman Trophy winner. The statue was originally near the Bright Football Complex but has been moved to near Kyle Field's west stands. Fireworks are planned that evening.
The Aggies host Ball State on Saturday night, Sept. 12.
An open house and free tours of parts of Kyle Field are planned Sunday afternoon, Sept. 13.
