FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A Fort Worth mother died after a truck crashed into a convenience store Tuesday afternoon.
Seven others were injured in the incident, including five who were inside the store.
The dead woman has been identified as 24-year-old Sylvia Zazueta.
Police arrested the driver of the truck, 19-year-old Isaac Adams, on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter.
It happened just before 2:00 p.m. at the Star Food Mart, located near the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Riverside Drive.
Witnesses said Zazueta was inside the building and was pinned under the truck. Firefighters had to pull the truck out before medics could reach her.
Investigators said the truck was traveling between 80 and 100 miles per hour when it lost control trying to make a turn from Riverside Drive onto Lancaster Avenue.
"It just sounded like a big boom, glass shattering," said Donald Jones, who was working in the back of store when the truck came crashing through. "All I heard is a bunch of screaming."
According to police, moments before the crash, Adams was involved in minor accident less than a half mile away on Riverside Drive.
Adams fled the scene of that minor accident when the driver of the other car, Bobby Washington, said he asked him to exchange information.
"He wouldn't give me his information and just burnt off," Washington said.
Zazueta is a mother of three, including an 8-month-old baby.
Concerned the building might collapse due to the damage, Fort Worth firefighters stabilized it Tuesday night and closed off all of its entrances.
