Brides & Grooms Getting Help After Bakery Suddenly Closes

DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - A number of people have stepped up to help North Texas brides and grooms worried about where they'll be able to purchase a wedding cake.
Romano's Bakery on Mockingbird Lane closed it's doors this week, leaving some 90 brides and grooms waiting for wedding cakes that won't be made at the business.
Corinna Gonzalez makes wedding cakes to help get her through the last two years of unemployment.
Gonzalez is offering to help people who lost money at Romano's, by offering them a discount on wedding cakes. "You dream about the cake that you want and I just want to help these brides have that dream," she said.
Kari Kuszewski worked at Romano's making the cakes. She is now also offering to make cakes at a discount for those who lost money.
"The brides need a cake. At this point as long as they get a cake, that's all I'm concerned about," she said. "I know I can't help every single one. I'm willing to help whoever I can help, but I'm unemployed so I can't do it for free either."
A number of other bakeries are also offering discounts to those left without a cake from Romano's.
The owner of Romano's did not return our phone calls and requests for comment.
