Board Takes Back Parole For Man Convicted In Baby's Death

WEATHERFORD (AP) — After granting parole to a North Texas man who pleaded guilty to causing the death of his 1-month-old son, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles reversed its decision.
The board approved John Paul Webb for release on Sept. 27, but reversed course Friday. Webb pleaded guilty in 2013 to a charge of serious bodily injury to a child in the 2010 death of his son, Christian. He received a 20-year sentence.
Parker County Assistant District Attorney Jeff Swain said Friday that 41-year-old Webb will remain in prison until at least October 2017, when he becomes eligible for another parole hearing.
After learning Webb was scheduled for release to a transitional program, Swain invited people to submit comments to the district attorney's office that were forwarded to parole board members.
