Blind Beaumont Man Rescued By Good Samaritan
BEAUMONT, Texas (KRLD) -- Police say a blind man in Beaumont got confused, missed his bus transfer and wandered alone all night in the cold trying to find his way home.
Beaumont Officer Carol Riley said he finally called 911 this morning, but heavy fog made searching almost impossible.
"One of the officers decided he would sound his siren to see if the blind gentlemen could hear that," said Riley.
Fortunately, a man walking his dog came alongside the blind man.
"That good Samaritan was able to get ahold of the gentleman and get him to officers to help him get back home," said Riley. "Both men prefer to remain anonymous....but the blind man says he's thrilled to be home."
