NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has dropped out of the race seeking the Republican presidential nomination, but Dr. Ben Carson remains and now the retired neurosurgeon is bringing his message to North Texas.

The Northeast Tarrant Tea Party has invited Carson to speak at a town hall meeting this weekend.

The announcement of Carson's trip to the Lone Star State comes after the writer and author gave an interview saying that President Obama was "raised white." The response came after the question was posed asking if he had any sense of pride when Mr. Obama was first elected.

Carson will speak at the NE Tarrant Tea Party Presidential Town Hall meeting on February 27. The event is being held in the Post & Live Oak Rooms of the Westin DFW Airport Hotel on Highway 114 in Irving and begins at 9:30 a.m.
