DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A family of beavers has found a temporary home in debris caught under the Continental Bridge.
"Their den got flooded and washed away so they're making the best of it but using debris that's been caught underneath the bridge," said Bonnie Bradshaw with 911 Wildlife.
The family of beavers is a rare sight. The large semi-aquatic rodents are usually nocturnal and live in underground dens, but the flooding has forced them to adapt.
"It was two beavers, that were sleeping together, holding each other. And when I looked further, there were four babies, three to four babies down there," said Ruth Hardesty, who enjoyed watching them.
The best time to get a peek in person is first thing in the morning or just before dusk.
