Shelter in place lifted at Baylor University after search for robbery suspects

Baylor University students were asked to shelter in place Thursday afternoon while police searched for robbery suspects.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at around 11:50 a.m., troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver didn't stop and fled from law enforcement, then a chase began.

Near the university, the driver and two passengers got out of the vehicle and ran from the troopers.

As a precaution, the university was asked to shelter in place while authorities searched for the suspects. The university advised people on campus to stay away from doors and windows. "THIS IS NOT A DRILL," the school posted on X.

About an hour and a half later, the shelter-in-place was lifted and the suspects were no longer on campus.
