BALCH SPRINGS (KRLD) - What looked like a suicide is now a murder investigation in Balch Springs. Police are now looking for the victim's estranged husband, Joaquin Saucedo a 29-year-old Hispanic male.

Police first received a call about the possible suicide on June 1. They found the body of Dania Riopedre in an upstairs bedroom. The Dallas County Medical Examiner now believes she died after being strangled to death.

Lt. Mark Maret with Balch Springs Police says, "One of the people we've been looking at was the estranged husband and we had reason to believe he fled to Mexico."

Police say Saucedo initially took their 2-year-old child with him, however, they believe the child is now with family members and is safe and unharmed.

Detectives have issued a warrant for the arrest of Saucedo with bond set at $500,000.

Anyone with information is urged to call police immediately.
