Arlington High School briefly locked down after police chase ends on campus

Police chase ends on the campus of an Arlington high school

ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — A police chase ended when a pickup truck crashed onto the campus of Arlington High School causing it to go into lockdown for a short period of time. 

According to a statement from Arlington Independent School District, officers from UT Arlington were pursuing a white pickup truck when it crashed into a sign near the outskirts of the campus on Friday afternoon. 

Arlington police were assisting in the chase and directed school officials to lockdown the campus at 12:21 p.m. Two suspects were arrested and at least one gun was recovered at the scene. Neither of the suspects are AISD students. 

At 1 p.m. school campus security officers and police began clearing all students and staff from their lockdown locations. The lockdown was lifted at 1:51 p.m.
