ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The Arlington City Council is set to vote Tuesday night on a deal with the Texas Rangers, for a new billion-dollar retractable-roof stadium.

The council will hear public comment on the resolution, which creates the Texas Rangers Complex Development Project.

The agreement would set in motion plans for the stadium, which the Rangers would like to see completed before the lease on the current ballpark expires in 2023.

Arlington voters would have to approve taxes required by the plan, for the city to pay a share of the construction costs.
