Gas Leak Resolved In Arlington, Evacuation Lifted
UPDATE- 4/12/15, 3:30PM-- The gas well incident at the LABC site on Little Road has been resolved. At 2:45pm Sunday, crews from Boots & Coots, a well control company, and Vantage Energy, the well operator, were able to seal the well, which had been leaking fracking material since Saturday afternoon.
UPDATE - 4/12/15, 8AM -- A statement released from Arlington Fire Department said that "while there has been no gas released to this point, the possibility exist that a release could occur. All citizens are asked to stay away from the area impacted by this gas well incident."

City of Arlington crews, Vantage Energy and Boot and Coots, a well control company, worked through the night to resolve a gas well incident located in the LABC gas well in Southwest Arlington. Boots & Coots well control attempted to re-plug the gas well at 0400, but was unsuccessful in their attempt. Boots and Coots will be bringing in additional resources to replace the gas wellhead as quickly and safely as possible. While there has been no gas released to this point, the possibility exist that a release could occur. All citizens are asked to stay away from the area impacted by this gas well incident.
Saturday afternoon an issue materialized with the fracking operation that resulted in flow back of pressurized fracking water. Vantage Energy, the well operator, called 9-1-1 at 2:53pm Saturday and Arlington Fire Department responded at 2:58pm. A joint command post was established at 3300 block of Little Road. The Emergency Operations Center was activated at 5pm and will remain operational until the issue is resolved.
As a precaution, a limited evacuation was called for in the following areas: Oak Bourne Drive, Englishtown Drive, Willowdale Drive and Jewell Drive.
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A mandatory evacuation was issued in an Arlington neighborhood due to a gas leak late Saturday.
Citizens who live on Oak Bourne Drive and in the 3000 block of Little Road were asked to seek shelter.
The gas leak was located at the LABC gas well and the Arlington Fire Department was monitoring the area for hazards.
A shelter was established at Grace Community Church.

At 8:00pm Saturday Vantage Energy attempted to control the well by injecting mud into the well. The well control effort was not successful.
The Arlington Fire Department was maintaining an emergency scene control perimeter to keep the local area safe, while well site personnel waited on the arrival of well control company, Boots and Coots to assist with the resolution.
