DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A man checking into a halfway house after being recently paroled was arrested Monday, December 14.

Dallas Police say 55-year-old Derrick Barron was picked up for an April 19 incident where police say a woman was sexually assaulted while sleeping on the side of the building near 1700 Market Street.

DNA evidence was processed from the crime scene and was checked via the CODIS database.

Police say comparison of DNA from the victim and the CODIS database identified Barron as a suspect.

Barron was placed in Lew Sterrett Jail with a $100,000 bond.
