After Arrest & Indictment, Dallas Man Admits Aiming Laser Pointer At Chopper

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Appearing before a U.S. District Judge Tuesday morning a Dallas man pled guilty to one count of aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft.

Orlando Jose Chapa admitted to knowingly aiming the laser beam at a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) helicopter on or about May 30, 2015.  Chapa was in his driveway when he pointed the laser at the helicopter as it flew overhead.

Chapa is out on bond but faces up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. His sentencing date has not been set.
