DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - More than a year after she eluded Dallas police by fleeing to Mexico, a capital murder suspect was extradited back to Dallas.
Brenda Delgado arrived Thursday night and was booked into the Dallas County Jail.
Attorney George Milner said his efforts to have Delgado returned to Dallas last March were thwarted by Mexican authorities. He said he doesn't expect to be able to see his client.
"They would not permit me to meet with her at the airport. They are simply going to take her directly to Lew Sterrett and book her in like anyone else," said Milner earlier in the day Thursday.
Delgado is wanted for the murder of Doctor Kendra Hatcher a year ago. The shooting happened in an uptown apartment garage. Prosecutors said Delgado was the mastermind of a hit, because Hatcher was dating her ex-boyfriend. She has been held in Mexico since March.
The suspected gunman, Kristopher Love, and the alleged getaway driver, Chrystal Cortes, were both charged.
