According to Gonzalez, the man who was detained claimed the gun accidentally went off while it was in his pocket. However, authorities said they believe evidence from the scene does not match his story.
Gonzalez said the person who was shot did not know the suspect. Authorities are continuing to investigate what led up to the shooting.
