6-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car In Dallas Neighborhood Dies

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A six-year-old boy, playing in the yard of a home in Dallas, was hit by a vehicle and died Sunday afternoon.

According to police, little Ja'Quan Smith was in front of a house in the 4300 block of Sunnyvale Street around 2:20 p.m. when the accident happened.

Investigators say, a 52-year-old woman was driving a silver 2015 Kia Soul when the boy suddenly ran across the street in front of the vehicle. The woman hit the child with the front right of her vehicle.

The driver stopped and stayed at the scene until officers arrived. The boy was rushed to Children's Hospital Dallas but died from his injuries.
