5 Sports Best Played In The Snow
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- North Texas is covered in snow and ice, prompting many school districts to cancel due to worsening road conditions.
The kids will get restless sitting at home for the third day this week. It's time to get outside.
Here are five sports that can -- and should -- be played in the snow. (Play at your own risk!)
Kayaking
Kayaking is a water sport. Well snow is water, right? (It's science.)
You can't watch this video and tell me that kayaks don't belong in the snow.
Snow Golf
You know those non-white balls that your grandmother gave to you that you are too embarassed to use on the golf course? Use them today.
Get outside, stretch properly, and let it fly! The greens have never been softer.
Snowball Fighting
A game for the traditionalists who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty -- or cold.
And if you happen to get injured, just put some ice on it. (How convenient!)
Skateboarding
Michael J Fox perfected this in Back To The Future, as he casually (and dangerously) skated behind vehicles on his way to class.
But he never did it in the snow.
This CBSDFW.com user submitted his rendition of the sport. Skate at your own risk!
Football!
There's no better sport to play in the snow than football.
When you catch the ball, your hands sting. Tackling hurts. And who cares if you can't stay on your feet.
Enjoy the snow!
