4 Taken To Hospital After Early Morning DART Bus Crash

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An accident involving a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus and a pickup truck has sent four people to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ramona Avenue and Fordham Road and involved a bus on the 515 Route in the Oak Cliff area.

According to a DART spokesperson, the pickup was traveling westbound when the driver ran a stop sign and hit the bus.

The head-on collision ended with the DART bus running off the road and crashing into a tree. The front end of was completely crush and showed signs of having possibly caught on fire. The bus also had damage to the front end. Both vehicles are inoperable.

There were no passengers on the bus.

The bus driver and three people in the truck were taken to the hospital. The driver's injuries aren't believed to be life threatening. The condition of the people in the truck isn't known.
