23-Year-Old Fort Hood Soldier Death Under Investigation

FORT HOOD (CBSDFW.COM) – Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 23-year-old soldier at Fort Hood.

2nd Lt. Andrew J. Hunt was found unresponsive in his home at 7:30 p.m. on September 13. He was later pronounced dead at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center three days later.

Hunt, who was from Bexar County entered active-duty military service in May 2015. He was assigned to 6th Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since September 2016.

Hunt's awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
