DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A Trinity Railway Express (TRE) bridge in Dallas has been closed after being struck by a semi truck around noon on Tuesday, causing delays and travel issues for TRE riders.

According to TRE officials, an 18-wheeler hit the TRE bridge that crosses over Hwy183, at Mockingbird in west Dallas.

DART engineers and TXDOT are checking out the bridge to see if it's safe.

In the meantime TRE is telling passengers they need to board a bus shuttle between Medical/Market Center and Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing stations.
