Dallas (CBSDFW.COM) - Donations are pouring in – more than $10,000 -- for a refugee family who fell victim to crime just weeks after moving to the United States.

Mukhtar and Sharifa Ahmad, and their three children, had lived in Dallas just 18 days when someone broke into their new home, stealing all their belongings.

Mukhtar translated for American soldiers in Afghanistan; saving countless lives.
