Two Dead After Plane Crash In Gainesville

GAINESVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) — Two people were killed after a twin-engine plane crashed and burst into planes near the Gainesville airport, authorities said.

It happened just after 4 p.m. Sunday as the Piper PA-34 crashed while preparing to land at Gainesville Municipal Airport, the FAA said.

An FAA spokesperson said two people were on board when the plane crashed about a quarter mile from the runway.

One person died on scene.  Another victim was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, but died there.

Their names have not been released.
