1.8 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In Irving

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - The U.S. Geological Survey confirms a 1.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded Wednesday evening in Irving.

The USGS said it struck around 5:17 p.m.

It followed a 2.4 magnitude earthquake early Monday morning just east of North O'Connor Boulevard and Texas 183 not far from the former site of Texas Stadium.

Seismologists with the USGS were scheduled to meet with the state's earthquake task force Monday, according to The Dallas Morning News, at Dallas City Hall regarding the state's recent earthquake activity. A briefing is expected in the coming weeks.
