Wheelchair-Bound Man Stabbed In Neck In SF's Bayview District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A wheelchair-bound man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed in the neck in San Francisco's Bayview District on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The victim was near the intersection of Third Street and Hudson Avenue shortly before 1:20 p.m. Saturday when a man approached him.

Police said the suspect stabbed the victim in the back of his neck with a knife before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the suspect was later located and arrested. The suspect's name is not yet being released as of this morning, according to police.

The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
