Suspected DUI Crash Into Power Pole Shuts Down Fremont Intersection

FREMONT (CBS SF) - The northbound lanes on Fremont Boulevard between Adler and Thornton Avenues remain closed due to a toppled power pole and exposed wires while the southbound lanes are open as of about 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to police.

The section of Fremont Blvd. near downtown Fremont has been closed since an unknown man crashed into the pole belonging to the city around 2:15 a.m., said Sgt. William Johnson. There were no injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI shortly after the accident.
